Beauty Favourites of 2015!

2015 Beauty Favourites

Seriously where has time gone? I can't believe it's already 2016. Going into my ninth year of blogging...geez so much has changed. But, that topic is for a different day. Let's get to my favourite beauty items of 2016.

Let's take it from the top and across. Let me start off by saying that I wanted to try the Pixi Glow Tonic forever. After reading all the rave reviews on other blogs, especially Caroline Hirons blog. I just had to have it! Now, this is not the easiest toner to find in Canada (unless you want to order online and pay high shipping fees). So, on a London layover I grabbed a bus over to the Pixi store near Regent Street. And was so happy the Pixi Glow tonic was in stock. Bought a few Muiji store empties and decanted my bottle into under 100ml travel friendly mini bottles. Why is this toner amazing? It's a close dupe to Biologique Recherche P50 (beauty editors cult favourite toner) minus the price tag. The Pixi Glow Tonic is a natural gentle, alcohol-free and oil-free toner. An exfoliating toner that aids in skin shedding and gives you the smoothest skin. A staple in my skincare routine.

A gentle sulfate-free cleanser, Arbonne Gentle Daily Cleanser from the CALM skincare line is a great non drying cleanser. It's not the best for removing stubborn mascara but I love that this doesn't strip my skin. Doesn't overly sud but perfect as it's so gentle.

I've been raving about SAJE forever! I first discovered Saje on a layover in Vancouver (where the store originates). All my co-workers raved about this store and the crew hotel used to have complimentary Saje products. Check out:

Gladly, they have expanded across Canada and there are quite a few must-have products from this store. One of them are their Konjac sponges. Konjac, a sponge from a plant (some say from the potato family but I read different stories) once wet becomes a soft exfoliating sponge perfect for those that are sensitive to mechanical scrubs.

In terms of makeup, B. Youthful  Anti-Aging Foundation (only available at Superdrugs in the U.K) made the list. An unknown brand which I discovered from a vlogger on youtube (I think Tanya Burr). I refer to this foundation as my "work foundation". Hydrates well and leaves a semi-dewy finish. Perfect for the dehydrating conditions on a plane.

This pick shouldn't be a surprise. I use Neutrogena All-in-One Cleansing Wipes all the time. They are so convenient; makeup remover, makeup mistake remover, post-cleanse after using facial cleansing oils and sticky hands from my two year old.

If you can get only one serum this year, Hylamide Subq Anti-Age Serum should be on your list. For all that this little bottle does and for the price it's the best hands down. Layer it under your usual  moisturiser for that extra punch your skin needs. Read here for all the good stuff in the bottle.

If you have dark under eye circles like I do. A medium to full coverage concealer is necessary. Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer is exactly that, heavy duty. The key to this concealer is to use very little. Seriously, this is very pigmented. I use a dot under each eye and tap/blend. The only con is that this can creep into fine lines at the outer edges of your eyes. I only apply to the inner corners and down into a v-shape and whatever is left on my finger I finish at the outer corners.

How many times did I post about not spending more than $10 on a mascara....lots. I would buy this over and over again because I get serious length with the Benefit Roller Lash Curling Mascara. Everytime I wear this I get asked "what mascara are you wearing?"

Let me know which products were your beauty favourites for 2015?
