There’s something special happening at the Private World of Mary Tripi.
It’s not the amazing decor – though the new salon is housed in a gorgeous light-filled space that will make you feel like you’re in the VIP room of an exclusive club.
And it’s not the fact that this one-stop-shop is so much more than just a hair salon - though I was impressed by the variety of services offered including aromatherapy massage, facials, and a full beauty studio where you can have professional photos taken of your new look.
No, the thing that sets the Private World of Mary Tripi apart is the people. And I’m not talking about the customers – though it was crazy to be in the same room as Adrienne Clarkson (former Governor General of Canada) during the opening night party!
Everyone I spoke to at the event told me the same thing – Mary and her staff really care about their clients and it makes all the difference. Out of all the stories I heard that night, my favorite, told by a stylist, was about one woman who started coming to the salon as a young child and is still a regular now that she’s in her 50s.
According to long-time client Mackenzie who was helping out at the opening, the people here are like a family: “They really take the time to get to know you - not only your look but your personality, and try to create something that reflects you as a person”. It must be true, because at the end of the evening I felt like I had been welcomed into that family and would gladly come back for another visit.
